Bonus is paid every year on the Basice salary of employee, I want to know that suppose any employee was on leave and his salary was made of 14 days only then in such case the bonus is calculated on these 14 days only or on monthly basic salary which ever is applicable.

Bonus has to be paid for every 1st apr - 31st mar accounting year. it has to be paid min. 8.33%, max 20%, as the case may be, on Basic + DA earnings during the period. As per query the person was on leave without wages(unearned days) & should not be paid bonus for that period.

Bonus is paid on the 'salary earned' . Once the person has completed 30 days of service in the accounting year in the organisation he become entitled to the bonus for that accounting year. Salary means basic and DA. Nothing more.

Ya coming to the point raised by u the bonus is payable by the employer if the employee has worked atleast for an period of 30 days or more. coming to the amount of bonus to be paid depends upon the allocable surplus of the company the allocable surplus is depended upon available surplus which is calculated as per schedule 2 of the Payment of Bonus act. So min bonus is 8.33% of the salary and max of 20%

if an employee has met with a work related accident and is absent due this reason, and also not worked for minimum 30 working days in the financial year, then how will his bonus be calculated. Please help.

itz a nice good question according to my knowledge they ll give bonus for the basic salary.......he may taken leave but they ll consider for basic salary ..........:smile:

first you chek your company systems, if co. use mercantile systems. the they calculate bonus on total withdrawn salary during the financial year basik+da, @8.33. and if not maintain any systems then they paid 1 month salary ,one month leave. and 12 or 24 day casual leave ( this systems continue run in marwari and gujrati ethiks business man)

Bonus is calculated on salary earned. Salary means Basic + DA. Minimum Bonus is 8.33% of the salary and max 20%. Many companies calculate Bonus on the basis of the performance of the employee. If your performance is Excellent / Outstanding, you’ll get 20% of your salary ( Basic + DA). If you were on Unpaid leave then you’ll not be entitled for Bonus for that unearned number of days. In short if any employee was on leave and his salary was made of 14 days only then in such case the bonus is calculated on these 14 days only. :-)
