Hello Rakesh,
Bonus
The payment of Bonus Act 1985 is applicable on any organization which has completed 06 years of its establishment and has employed 20 or more persons.
Eligibility for Bonus: Every employee shall be entitled to be paid by his employer in an accounting year bonus, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, provided he has worked in the establishment for not less than 30 working days in that year. Bonus is calculated @ 8.33% of the Basic + DA of an employee in the year. As per your point is concerned, if the working day of employee is 30 + days then his fraction of days will be calculated for bonus, based on his 8.33% of (Basic + D.A) of fraction of day.

Thank You,

Dear All,
1. Can any one clarify the calculation of Bonus. Suppose a employee worked 250 days in a year and his basic is 4500 in the month of Jan ,5500 in the month of Apr and 6000 in the month of Oct. How do we calculate the bonus.
2. Either it is on Earned basic or on basic salary.
Thanks

Hi Rakesh,
If the employee has not work minimum one months in the financial year, he will not be entitled for Bonus. Thus the point raised by you, if the employee has work only for 14 days in the financial year, he will not entitled for Bonus. but if the period of 14 days is apart from 1 months the the fraction of days will be calculated for bonus @ the rate minimum 8.33% to maximum 20%.
