The first and foremost suggestion is that if u r willing to learn the HR vertical, you need to take up as first as a recruiter, then step into HR Generalist, next level after understanding all the guamet of HR, u can choose to be a specialist in that, which will be your key skill. You have to become an expert in that skill say either Comp & Benifit, OD(Organisation Development) etc.

All depends on the MBA from where u got , if it is core HR gud, then Ashwini, u need to chek what is the background of the company the nos of employees, the responsbility, the team in HR all this info would make u to decide the company.
If u ask me is to start off in recruitment with a consultancy else, the same work in a gud (means there is recruitment on going)company

Head Hunting is a very skill based work, in a simple words, suppose u have been asked to search for CEO's for a IT park company, then u need to search resources from a similar field or competitor companies. The client would have indirectly given hint on the target co or person, one has to hunt out that particular profile / company, then find out the person is available, then sell the position to him and explain the advantage of joining ur client, sometimes one has to discreetly do the work without both party i.e the client will not know the candidate's full name and background similarily the candidate may not know the client details. etc.
This Head Hunting is done by experienced person for senior positions, sometimes it is also done for other positions say for a Mangaer sales in Radio company, they want to sell advt space, so they want u to head hunt candidate from competitor's organisation
here the work becomes little easy.
