According to our companie's salary calculation is
PAY & ALLOWANCES
BASIC SALARY =50% (GROSS SALARY)
HRA =46% to 47%(GROSS SALARY)
DA =40%(GROSS SALARY)
MEDICAL ALLOWANCES =15%(GROSS SALARY)
DEDUCTIONS
PROFESSIONAL TAX = Rs 100 up to 10,000 IF more than 10,000 THEN PT IS Rs 200.
PROVIDEND FUND = Rs 2500 to 3500
TOTAL NET SALARY = PAY & ALLOWANCES - DEDUCTIONS

Earnings
Basic - 50% on Gross Salary
HRA - 40% & 50 % B (B grade Cities & A grade cities)
Conv. - 800
Spl . Allowances - Difference amount
Deductions
PF - 12% on basic salary
Prof. Tax (depends on state)
ESI - 1.75% (applicable only less than/equal to 10000/- salaried employees)
TDS (if applicable)

So far my knowledge goes, all payments above 20000 a year to employees or professionals or consultants or anyone providing any service are taxable. TDS need to be deducted as per provision of the Income Tax laws.
In case of stipend its to be treated as a salary tan employee and will attract TDS.
Profession Tax will have to be deducted too.
Total Annual Salary
Less: P Tax
Less: deduction u/s 80C etc.
Taxable income:

Less: nil taxation slab 1,50,000/- (if male)

Provident Fund Org. is under Central labour minst.....
the same calculations are applicable in all org, in india....
PF Calculations
Employee Basic Salary + DA * 12%
(Some organsations are calculating upto Rs.6500/- cieling)
Employer will be added 3.67% for provident fund + 8.33% (not greater than Rs.541/-) for pension, if there is any amount left that will be added into the provident fund (i.e. 3.67%)

We followed this in our software to Calculate monthly Salary

Basic : 10,000
HRent (60% of Basic): 4000
Others : 3000 (Others having no limit so that Top level managment salary can breakdown properly to reduce Tax & various problem)
Madical : 1000
Gross Salary :18,000

Transport Allownace : 1200
Mobile Allownace : 800
Food Allownace : 600
Tiffin Allownace : 200
Others Allownace : 1000

1. Salary with Allowance : 21800

This is basic Salary structure for employee. When you calculating monthly salary few addition and deduction on salary here i tried to explain it.

2. Salary Adjustment : 2000 (Salary adjustment is required if there is any short payment in previous month or appraisal amount adjustment or others rewards value that will disbursed throug salary)

There should be some deduction on monthly salary.

Income Tax : 1200
Salary Advance :5000
Loan : 1600
Others :200

3. Deductions : 8000

Salary Calculation, Net Payment= (1+2)-3
=15800

Hi All,
This is Swetah working as HR in a newly established company at Hyderabad. Need a informantion about salary calculation, in the sense
For How many days we need to consider in a month, either 26 days or 30 days?
If a person is Joined on 24th of the month? and his/her salary is 15k then what is the calaculation we need to do?
We follow this process for calculation:
Basic+DA-50%
HRA-20%
Meidcal-10%
Misc-1%
Conv-6%
Edu/Laptop-13% on Gross
So what should be my payment in such cases?
On what basis i need to deduct Loss of Pay if the person is absent.
Till now we did it on 30 days and the person joined on 24th, we paid 4000K,as per day is 500 and 500*8=4000K
Is this the right way we are following or else let me know exact process how industries usually follow?

Dear Swetah, LOP (loss of Pay) should be calculated always on Basic. Secondly, while calculating salary always take the whole month into account i.e. 30/31 days.

If is the continuous contribution of PF for last 10 yeards or more than that, then you will be entitled for pension, as you stated that you have received the part payment. It means, you will be entitled for the pension for your entire life.

you have to deduct incometax on stipend, dont deduct P tax.

Basic - 50% on Gross salary
HRA - 40% - 50% based on basic salary
Conveyance - Rs. 800/- as per income tax rule
other amount can be converted as Special allowance or allowance like medical, food coupons etc.
