Can anyone please giude me if there is any limit to the number of different leaves the employee can claim from the company itself.
Are there any set limits for the number of leaves yearly or it is the will of the company policy to remould it.

Dear Aarti,
You have not mentioned the name of the Act under which your unit is covered i.e. Factories Act,1948 Or Shops & Commercial Establishments Act. National & Festival as well as Casual & Sick Leave Act and The Maternity Benefit Act,1961 may also be applicabe. The Shops Act & the NFH Act are the state enactments while the F. Act & The Maternity Benefit Act are the Central Acts. In all these Acts provisions for different types of leaves are laid down there. Before preparing the leave policy for your unit you must go through these enactments. You are required to grant minimum leaves as per these laws. Thereafter,you may give more No. of leaves as per your unit capacity and lay down the procedure for sanction/grant of different leaves.
