Recruitment in company differs from that of consultancy in some aspects.Previously when there were no consultancies,it was solely done in the comapny but later it has been given to consultancies.Once the requirement and the job role is confirmed,the consultancies would be contacted for the requirement.Then the work of the consultancy starts.It matches the requirement with the databas it has and sends the potential contact list or people to interview.If any one gets shortlisted nd selected for the job,the consultancy would claim a % of the basic salary of the employee which varies ,sometimes, with the level of the employee being placed.The role of consultancy ends there for that position and again the cycle starts if a new requirement comes.

If a company is handling the recuitment,it can go for many options like advertising about the requirement clearly mentioning the requirement,campuss recruitment,employee referal,consultancies etc.So here consultancy becomes an option.

In company,the recruitment is more complex and more issues have to be considered for doing so like market position, buget for the whole process and so on.One more important thing is the salary negotiation part which is solely at the discretion of the company but not with the consultancy.The company gives the range to the consultancy at which it can employ a person but never finalises before seeing the candidates.

And the consultancies have to go with the decision of the company in selecting a candidate.

So consultancies does a part of recruitment but not complete recruitment as final selection and interview for the same would be conducted by the company itself.Consultancies only help in head hunting.It is the Company who finalises the candidate.
