Competency mapping - It's nothing but Job specification & description (before recruitment you must done these things)
Job Specification
Derived from job analysis, it is a statement of employee characteristics and qualifications required for satisfactory performance of defined duties and tasks comprising a specific job or function.
First you prepare, job designation - required skill, education, knowledge, attitude & experience
Then you source that type of guys
after that you compare your competency matrix with actually what they have
If any gap is there between required and actual - Give training to achieve required skill level
Job description is a written statement showing job title, tasks, duties and responsibilities involved in a job. It also prescribes the working conditions, hazards, stress and relationship with other jobs.
Thus, a job specification contains the following information:
1. Job title, code number, and department / division.
2. Job contents in terms of activities or tasks performed.
3. Job responsibilities towards effective performance of the job.
4. Working conditions specifying specific hazards/stress.
5. Social environment prevailing at the workplace.
