MIS is Management Information System..... This department is responsible to provide useful information to senior management for startegic decision making.... For eg. in banking & telecom industry has to have a strong MIS to classify their customers into different segments...
Various analysis are done such as cost analysis, Revenue analysis, sales report(geographicaly/ product wise)....

Generally in iterviewer want to know type of MIS.

MIS role goes to even much higher level...

Good Luck,

Krishna

MIS means Management Information System....Basically you have to collect the details from defferent deptt. and prepare a excel sheet and this data content all information regarding management for decission making.
e.g. if you collect the data from ESI deptt. then collect the all information regarding to useful as in ESI i.e. No. of Employees covered in last month, No. of New employees Join in Organisation in last month etc.

I think u know about the idea of preparing MIS.
Thanks.....
