It used to be defined earlier as starting from suppliers to the organization to the customers. But now its definition has been enlarged and it is defined as starting from suppliers’ suppliers to the organization to the customers’ customers.

The effectiveness and efficiency of supply chain depends on how tightly the chain has been integrated.
