It is a myth that only marketing/sales or purchase or industrial relations professional need to know about negotiations and negotiating tactics. Every professional in every function need to negotiate with some one or the other at least some issues from time to time. Some people lose out despite having great ideas since they are weak in negotiating.

It is a very useful skill and ever one should acquire it.

I fully agree with you. Life is fully of negotiations.... from negotiating a curve while coming to your office to negotiate with god..
