Hello Singh,

ISO 90003 is the Standard that is specifically meant for implementation of Quality Management System in Software Development Companies. ISO 90003 was earlier called as TickIT Standard. You can consider implementing ISO 9001:2008, by taking guidance from ISO 90003 also, but you will have to consider quite a few issues before going in for this kind of strategy. If you are a small SW Development Company, the ISO 90003 approach may be too heavy and the implementation may be tiresome.

Having said this, the question is what is your business objective behind implementing ISO 9001. If you are sure that your company will grow in size to about 25 SW Professionals, in less than a year, ISO 90003 approach adds a credibility. If not, just stay put with ISO 9001 now and consider ISO 90003 later.
